Fully Compliant Flame Resistant Mattresses
All Made Rite Bedding mattresses are developed with cutting-edge technology to ensure the highest level of comfort, performance AND SAFETY that only a truly well-built, fire resistant mattress will provide.
Beginning on July 1, 2007 the Federal government, in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, required that all mattresses purchased for institutional use must meet the following “open flame” mattress burn test:
> Consumer Product Safety Commission 16 CFR Part 1633 (CPSC 16 CFR 1633)
Made Rite Bedding has performed its due diligence and continues to monitor its product lines to assure that all mattresses manufactured for your facilities comply fully with the flammability requirements of CPSC 16 CFR 1633. Test results show conclusively that our mattresses pass the full-scale fire tests — that they release rates of heat that are significantly below the peak rates allowed under the test requirements and, therefore, are truly “open flame resistant”.
In addition to being compliant with CPSC 16 CFR 1633, our mattresses also meet the requirements of California Technical Bulletin # 129 (“CA TB#129”) Full Composite Burn Test and the NFPA Life Safety Code 101.
Facilities that desire to ensure full compliance can incorporate the following language into their mattress specification, which will assist in providing the necessary evidence of compliance:
“Mattresses must meet the current performance requirements of the new Federal Mattress Flammability Standard effective in 2007. In addition, mattresses must meet California Technical Bulletin #129. Proof in the form of a complete, unabridged copy of the test reports for ASTM E-1590 and CAL 129 must be presented by the vendor prior to delivery of any product.”
